EDL Northwest (EDL NW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded with the mission to support the spiritual regeneration of humanity.
As part of its mission, EDL NW provides philanthropic support to organizations that focus on health and well-being and outdoor, environmental education as ways to encourage the social-emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth of children and adults, and the responsible stewardship of the planet.
We do this by identifying and funding nonprofit organizations that demonstrate an impact in one or both of these areas within the communities they serve.
In 2022, EDL NW made the decision to broaden its impact by spending down its philanthropic funds. This allowed for an increase in funding to a select group of grantees, all of which received multi-year grants.
By the end of 2026, EDL NW’s funds will be spent down, and its philanthropic giving program will come to an end. This strategic decision allows for a level of financial support that can assist these organizations in expanding programming and partnerships, raising awareness of their good works and the communities they serve, and attracting additional funders, friends, and champions who will help sustain their missions now and into the future.
